Jā, viņi varētu man nepiekrist, bet man tas ir taisni zem anālās atveres.

Man visa šī Natal padarīšana izskatās pēc M$ mēģinājuma katrā mājā ielikt pa kamerai.

What is Project Natal?
Project Natal is Microsoft's 3D camera for Xbox 360. It tracks people's motions in three dimensions and has a microphone capable of voice recognition. It is to be used as a controller-free method of playing video games, tracking the player's body movements and voice and transferring that information directly to the gaming console.

Microsoft has described the codename as having several sources. "The name "Project Natal" has several sources. Microsoft Corp. traditionally uses cities as code names. As a result, Alex Kipman, who incubated the project and is from Brazil, chose Natal, a city along the northeastern coast of Brazil, as a tribute to his country. In addition, he knew that Natal also means "to be born" in Latin. Given the new audiences "Project Natal" will bring to Xbox 360, this felt right."

When is it coming?
No official release date has been offered by Microsoft. That said, you can expect it to release in the latter half of 2010. The CEO of THQ, a third-party videogame publisher and developer, mentioned this release window during a financial call earlier this year. IGN has had this expected release period confirmed by developers off of the record as well.

How does it work?
Project Natal uses an RGB camera, an infrared projector and a monochrome CMOS sensor. The RGB camera tracks basic colors and enables features such as Natal's ability to recognize faces. The infrared and CMOS sensors work in tandem to create a 3D image of the room. Microsoft claims that it is this combination of several sensory arrays that allow Natal to work in any light condition.

This data is then combined with proprietary algorithms to map a wire-frame skeleton of the player in real-time. It is this extra layer of processing that allows Natal to continue working even if something wanders between the player and the camera. This wire-frame system also allows Natal to recognize four players at once without getting overlapping limbs confused.

In addition to its visual sensors, Natal has a multiarray microphone that can "locate voices by sound and extract ambient noise." This will allow for individual voice recognition and headset-free chatting in online games.

How much will Natal cost?
No specifics on pricing have been hinted at by Microsoft.

Will Natal work with a PC?
As of today, Microsoft has only presented Natal as an Xbox 360 peripheral. However, there is reason to believe that it will also be usable on your PC at some point. Bill Gates has been quoted as saying that the Windows group has "latched onto" Natal's technology and is eyeing it for use in home entertainment and office applications.

Given the support for Windows PC that Microsoft has offered to Xbox 360 peripherals in the past -- both the Xbox 360 controller and Vision Camera work with Windows -- it seems likely Natal drivers will be released at some point.

How is this different from Nintendo's Wii remote or Sony's upcoming motion controller?
Natal is the only motion controller that doesn't actually use a controller at all. Read IGN's recent Grudge Match for a full rundown of the differences.

Does Natal replace the XBL Vision Camera?
Though Microsoft has not explicitly stated that Natal replaces the Vision Camera, that peripheral has already seen its support all but disappear.

Which games will use Project Natal?
Microsoft has said that it plans to treat the Natal launch like the release of a new console. That usually means that a dozen or so games will come out alongside it. So far, six games have been shown using the camera. Not everything that is shown will necessarily be released to the public when Natal launches and older titles won't get Natal upgrades.

Milo
This game from Lionhead Studios is a bit like a virtual friend. It was introduced at E3 by Peter Molyneux as a means of showing off the various features of Natal. Milo, the virtual boy in the game, is shown recognizing shirt colors, responding to voice commands and emotion, and recognizing drawings held up to the camera.

Ricochet
Richochet challenges players to get up off of the couch and swing and kick at balls flying towards them. The goal is to hit balls back and break targets using your hands and feet. At E3, Microsoft used Ricochet to demonstrate the active use of controller-free gaming that Natal offers.

Burnout Paradise
EA's crash course in driving has already been released and can currently be played using a standard controller. However, Burnout Paradise was used as an example of a racing game that doesn't need a controller. To play, you'll have to stand up and mimic holding a steering wheel. Natal will follow your hand motions and adjust the steering accordingly. For braking and accelerating, you'll have to move your foot forward and backwards. We have yet to see this played sitting down…

Paint Party
Another casual game shown off by Microsoft at its E3 press conference is Paint Party. This game allows players to paint on a canvas by using voice commands and splattering paint with sweeps of their arms. The accuracy left a lot to be desired, but Paint Party looks to be fun for those that like to get down and dirty with paints and not have to worry about cleaning up afterwards.

Space Invaders Extreme
Shown by Microsoft at the Tokyo Game Show, Space Invaders Extreme was used to demonstrate how Natal could be used in a classic game. To control the ship, players would shuffle their bodies to the left or right. Firing is done by pointing their hands in the air.

Beautiful Katamari
Another already released game that was shown as a means of demonstrating the flexibility of Natal. Here, the Katamari ball is controlled by holding the arms out like Superman to "push" it along. Move your arms to the left or right and the ball steers accordingly. Raise your hands in the air and you'll flip the camera around.

Will my favorite developer be making games with Natal?
Microsoft has already sent out the Natal development kits to third-party developers and many of those groups are chugging away on controller-free games. Some are on board as early adopters. Others, however, seem to be taking a "wait and see" approach.

Unsurprisingly, Microsoft's internal development studio Rare appears to be at the forefront of Natal development. The studio has repeatedly advertised its desire to hire Natal game designers and has even said the group views Natal as a way to revive old franchises.

At the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft unveiled a list of major publishers working with Natal. It includes Activision Blizzard, Bethesda Softworks, Capcom, Disney Interactive, Electronic Arts, Konami, MTV Games, Namco Bandai, SEGA, Square Enix, THQ Inc. and Ubisoft.

Other developers have shown interest in the technology without formally announcing a project, such as High Voltage and Hideo Kojima.

Others have been more reserved in their plans, including Valve and Crytek

Will Natal ruin my favorite franchise?
Whether you love Natal or hate it, you should know that it won't be in every Xbox 360 game. Mass Effect 2 won't be using it. Nor will Fable III. On the flip side, Bungie Studio Head told the Seattle Times that Halo "Reach could be enabled with it".

A lot of developers and publishers have confirmed that they are working on games that use Natal, but very few actual games have been announced at this time. The best you can do is sit tight and stay tuned to IGN for the latest announcements.

Does this mean there's going to be no Xbox 720?
Despite some misspoken words by CEO Steve Ballmer, Microsoft has not announced any successor to the Xbox 360 console. What's more, the company has publicly stated its hopes that Natal will extend the life of Xbox 360 beyond the traditional five to seven year expectancy.
